The number of climbing gyms in the United States has quadrupled since the year 2000 according to 99boulders. With that, the sport of climbing has been more accessible than ever. Although it has consistently increased in popularity throughout the years, climbing still lacks diversity. This portrait series explores the ways people who are a part of the deaf community in Rochester N.Y., participate and excel in a sport despite the lack of representation.
